Nominal Systems is pleased to announce a significant development in our collaborative efforts – a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hypersonix. This partnership marks a strategic venture into new areas of innovation, as Nominal Systems supports Hypersonix in the development of a digital twin concept demonstrator for their DART AE hypersonic vehicle.
Nominal Systems has established a strong presence in the field of digital twinning, with a focus on the space sector. Our technology has been instrumental for major satellite operators, including the UK Ministry of Defence, enhancing their mission planning, testing, and training processes. Expanding our scope, we are now collaborating with Hypersonix, a leader in hypersonic vehicle development.
Our project involves the creation of the Hyper Twin X, a digital twin concept demonstrator for Hypersonix's DART AE hypersonic aircraft. Andy Mulholland, Head of Product at Hypersonix, highlights the significance of this venture: "The hypersonic digital twin will enable virtual flights of DART AE, facilitating the assessment of mission concept changes and training for hypersonic detect & intercept systems.”
Expanding Horizons: The scope of our digital twin products reaches well beyond space applications. The modular design of our platform facilitates the seamless integration of diverse data sources, which is pivotal for the accurate modelling, thorough analysis, and strategic optimization of multifaceted systems. Our platform boasts an extensive array of component templates. These encompass a broad spectrum, from intricate power management and robust data handling to sophisticated control software and hardware-in-the-loop simulations. Additionally, the platform's versatility allows for the creation of tailor-made component modules. This feature-rich, adaptable architecture simplifies the complexities of system modelling, making it both efficient and user-friendly for diverse user cases. This flexibility is now being applied to hypersonic flight, integrating data from diverse sources such as shock tunnel tests, thermal analysis, and real-flight data, demonstrating our capability to model complex systems beyond spacecraft.
💡 Operational and Strategic Benefits: The collaboration with Hypersonix demonstrates the value of our digital twin technology in offering operational insights and innovation. The application of our technology to Hypersonix's DART AE underscores the role of digital twins in providing data-driven insights and enhancing decision-making across various industries.
This partnership with Hypersonix represents more than a collaborative effort; it is a step towards substantial industry transformation through the data-driven insights provided by digital twins. By advancing the capabilities of digital twin technology, Nominal Systems aims to make operating complex systems as easy as playing with lego.
We are committed to working alongside Hypersonix to transform the future of flight and technological development.
